Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a very common refractive eye error that causes blurred vision. It occurs when the light that enters the eyeball isn’t refracted onto the retina properly. This causes the image that we see to appear blurred. Patients with astigmatism are found to have an irregular curve to the shape of their cornea, which is the clear, domed lens that covers the front part of the eye. This curve makes the eye shape seem more like a football than a soccer ball. Our experienced team knows just how to diagnose astigmatism, which can be corrected in a number of ways including using glasses or contact lenses. We will be delighted to help you find the right solution to correct your astigmatism.
