Dry Eyes

Dry eyes, or dry eye syndrome as it is often known, is a very common condition. It occurs when the eyes either do not make enough natural tear film, the tear film quality is poor or off-balance or the tear film drains too quickly. These cause the eyes to feel dry, gritty, itchy, red, and sore. You may also experience redness, sensitivity to light and blurred vision. It isn’t always known why dry eyes occur, but there are some factors that make the condition more likely, including being over the age of 50, wearing contact lenses, spending excessive amounts of time looking at a screen and working in air-conditioned or heated environments. Fortunately, there are a variety of treatments available and our team will be happy to find you the most suitable to treat your dry eyes.
